The Buffalo Bills kick off training camp on July 29 at St. John Fisher. This moves the team into the next major phase of the offseason ahead of the 2026 NFL season.

This edition will focus on the Bills' tight end room.
Top of the chart
The Bills have operated with two tight ends driving most of the action at the position. Dalton Kincaid is considered to be Buffalo's top receiving tight end. However, he has battled a bevy of injuries and missed time, leaving the team longing for the production of his strong rookie season. Kincaid played in only 26.6-percent of the Bills offensive snaps last year. The Bills would love it if Kincaid ascended to the top of the chart
on a more consistent basis.
Dawson Knox has worked as Buffalo's do-it-all tight end. He does a little of everything well: he's a solid blocker and works well in the intermediate passing game.
Kincaid was second on the Bills with 39 receptions, while Knox was third with 36 catches last year.
Depth chart
Jackson Hawes slots in as Buffalo's third tight end. He's an above-average blocker, giving him an advantage in the run game. With Alec Anderson most likely moving on from the sixth offensive linemen room, he will cede those snaps to Hawes.
Keleki Latu and Shane Zylstra round out the tight end room.
Battle to watch
Realistically, the tight end group should be set with Kincaid, Knox, and Hawes. However, with Kincaid's injury history, the need for the fourth tight end of the depth chart to be read as the next man up means Latu and Zylstra may have a deep roster battle.
Who needs a strong training camp?
Among this group, Kincaid is the player who needs to have the best camp. We have seen his abilities on display. However, showing a healthy Kincaid can raise the confidence level of the player and the offense. The hope is Kincaid can trend upward and be a top intermediate option in the passing game for Josh Allen.
