The Buffalo Bills are back in action.
The first step toward the start of the 2026 NFL season has come this week. On Tuesday, the entire 90-man roster for the Bills reported to training camp at St. John Fisher in Rochester. Then on Wednesday, the first day of camp practice will go down.
Workouts that are open to fans and media will lead up to and go through part of the preseason. Following the exhibition season, everyone knows what will come next in September: The real deal.
But before then, the Bills will need to determine who will make the final roster. Why not take a way-too-early projection at the roster before a single position battle begins?
With that, here is Bills Wire's pre-training camp 53-man roster projection:
Quarterback (2)
- Josh Allen

Straight forward
at QB as Shane Buechele is the No. 3 on the practice squad.
Running back (4)
- James Cook

Acker takes the part fullback role Reggie Gilliam previously held for years.
Wide receiver (6)

- Khalil Shakir
- Joshua Palmer
- Trent Sherfield
- Skyler Bell
The Bills like to take five receivers more often than not. Sherfield could be a special teamer more than wideout, though.
Tight end (3)

The Bills are likely to roll it back at tight end again with the same three
Offensive line (9)
- Dion Dawkins

Bowery is a fourth-round rookie that looks poised for swing tackle duties. Corbett and Anderson will battle it out for the starting left guard spot.

- Zane Durant
With a change to a 3-4 defense under new coordinator Jim Leonhard, the Bills will need a few more big bodies on the line.
Edge defender (6)

- Landon Jackson
- Javon Solomon
But with those big bodies on the line, don't be surprised with some movement of players with versatility. Parker looks like the top rotational option as Buffalo's first drafted rookie in 2026.
Linebacker (4)

- Kaleb Elarms-Orr
- Joe Andreesen
Elarms-Orr and Andreesen have had positive reviews this spring as backups. Elarms-Orr could even push Williams to start.
Cornerback (4)
- Christian Benford

- Dee Alford
Versatility plays a huge part in the secondary as well. Igbinosun was another rookie that had a strong spring and might push to start.
Safety (6)

- Jalon Kilgore
The real versatility hits hard at safety. The Bills have multiple options that can play nickel cornerback.
