For Josh Allen, the 2026 NFL season carries perhaps the most expectations for him to win a Super Bowl out of any season he’s played in his career.
Now entering his ninth season in the league with the Buffalo Bills, Allen has established himself as one of football's premier quarterbacks. However, his individual success has yet to translate into a Super Bowl appearance with the Bills, making 2026 a pivotal year for him to lead Buffalo to that stage.
Last season ended in heartbreaking fashion for the Bills, with Buffalo falling 33-30 to the Denver Broncos in overtime of the divisional round of the playoffs. Allen threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns in the game, but also threw two interceptions, which helped Denver secure the win.
Of course, there
was that Brandin Cooks decision that went against the Bills in that one...
Allen has not yet found the recipe to hurdle the AFC championship game in his career to date. He has reached the conference championship game twice in his career, both against the Kansas City Chiefs, and has lost each time.
At 0-2 in AFC championship games, Allen enters the 2026 season with expectations to finally lead Buffalo to the Super Bowl, and in a winning effort at that.
