The Buffalo Bills have named six team captains for the upcoming 2026 NFL season ahead of their Week 1 matchup against the Houston Texans.
The designated team leaders that will wear a "C" on their uniform will be quarterback Josh Allen, tight end Dawson Knox, edge defender Bradley Chubb, linebacker Terrel Bernard, long snapper Reid Ferguson and special teams gunner Sam Franklin Jr.

The group includes two players from phase of the game: Offense, defense and special teams.
Allen and Bernard are the longest-tenured captains in the group, having spent the past eight and three seasons as captains, respectively. Ferguson has previously been a team captain four times in his career in Buffalo and this is the first
time since 2021.
Knox is entering the seventh season in Buffalo but his first time as a team captain. Another new captain is Franklin, who is in his second year with the Bills after signing a contract extension in Buffalo this offseason after joining the Bills in 2025.
Even newer than that, Chubb only just signed in Buffalo as a free agent this past spring. Still, he was voted into the role by the Bills locker room.
Chubb has previously been a team captain in the NFL, wearing the "C" as recently as last year with the Miami Dolphins.
