As the Buffalo Bills prepare for the 2026 NFL season, Bills Wire will take a look at the most important contributors on their roster. The team has some cornerstone players who will be returning for another shot at bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Buffalo, and they'll have help from some new additions as well.
Leading up to the season, we will be counting down the top-30 most important players on the roster. We'll recap their 2025 season, look ahead to what they'll offer in 2026, and tackle the most pressing questions surrounding them this coming year.
Next on the countdown is Spencer Brown.

Position: Tackle
Age at start of season: 28
Experience: sixth year
2026 cap hit: $8,970,000
2025 recap
Spencer Brown appeared in 14 games for the Bills in 2025, missing three
due to injury. He missed Week 4 vs. the Saints after sustaining a calf injury the week prior. He then missed Weeks 13 and 14 against the Steelers and Bengals due to a shoulder injury. On the year, Brown received a 76.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, which ranked 20th out of 89 tackles in the NFL. His 85.3 run-blocking grade ranked seventh.
2026 outlook
Brown underwent knee surgery in the offseason, but didn't have any setbacks and was ready for training camp. "This offseason was great," Brown said this summer. "I know I had that knee surgery but it was a simple knee surgery so nothing to worry about there... I'll be out there."
Brown will once again return as the starting right tackle for the Bills in 2026. He'll face a tough test right away on the road at Houston in Week 1, a place where he struggled in 2025 while battling through the shoulder injury.
Biggest question: Can he stay healthy all year?
Brown hasn't played a full season since 2023, missing five games over the last two years while battling through a handful of injuries. But, when Brown is feeling good and on the field, he's been reliable for Josh Allen and has looked like an elite NFL tackle. Last month, Brown was ranked as the NFL's third-best right tackle by Bleacher Report. A healthy season could propel Brown from being considered a top-three right tackle to being one of the top offensive linemen in the league.
