Josh Allen did a lot without passing much on Monday night. He just needed open turf to get it done.
With the Bills passing game stuck for most of the 37-34 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams, Allen kept taking off whenever the pocket broke down.
According to NFL Next Gen Stats, he picked up 107 yards on scrambles alone. Nobody has gained more that way in a game this season, and only two performances have topped it since tracking began in 2016.
Josh Allen rushed for 107 yards on scrambles, the most by any player this season and third-most in a game in the Next Gen Stats era.

Since 2016, Allen has rushed for 100+ yards on scrambles twice. The entire rest of the NFL has also done so just twice.#BUFvsLAR #BillsMafia pic.twitter.com/lxEsHX1myH
Then
there is the bigger number. Allen now has two 100-yard scramble games in that span, and every other player in the league combined also has two. His 91 yards in the 4th quarter were also the most by a QB in a 4th quarter/overtime in 26 years.
Those scrambles made up most of his 121 rushing yards, including the back-to-back carries of 19 and 13 yards in overtime that set up Tyler Bass for the winning kick.
Not bad for a guy who was 0-7 in overtime before Monday.
"When it's there, it's there," Allen said to the media after the win. "I don't want to make a living on that, I understand that, but I do know how much of a backbreaker that can be on a defense when you think you're in pretty good coverage. I felt like there was some room to maneuver there and keep the chains moving."
The Bills are 4-1, and Allen's legs got them there this week.
