The Buffalo Bills got the better of the Detroit Lions in their 2026 NFL home opener by taking a 41-31 win in Week 2.
The contest was the first win at the new Highmark Stadium, an emotional evening.
Onlookers can learn plenty from such a game.
With that, here are Bills Wire's three things we learned from Week 1:
Kincaid could be real
Tight end Dalton Kincaid has flown out of the gate in 2026. He has 12 catches on 14 targets for 225 yards with a touchdown through two games. For context, his best season in the NFL was his rookie year when he had 673 yards.
With his seven catches, 95 yards and score against the Lions, Kincaid showed he might finally be that athletic standout tight end that are hard to find in the league. Kincaid's performance against Detroit in particular
showed that because Kincaid put those numbers up despite No. 1 receiver DJ Moore essentially missing the entire game.
Josh Allen is still a touchdown machine in 2026

Defensive front can hold its own
The Bills have had two names stepping up in the defensive front through two games. Defensive lineman Deone Walker has done plenty of dirty work that doesn't show up in the stat sheet. Here's the most telling example: Walker was awarded eight QB pressures and four QB hits in 19 games played throughout the entire 2025 season and postseason. In his two games this year, he has nine QB pressures and four QB hits.
That's a helluva improvement.
By comparison, edge defender Greg Rousseau needs even less of an introduction. Similar to Allen, the forced fumbles and sacks are doing all the talking.
