Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has experienced a rare full-circle moment in his NFL career following his team's 36-31 win over the Houston Texans in Week 1.
After the win was completed, Allen has officially shared the field with both Frank Gore and Gore’s son, Frank Gore Jr., during his NFL career. The younger Gore was called up from Buffalo's practice squad and had one carry for three yards in the contest:

Allen played alongside the elder Gore during the 2019 season, when the latter provided quality veteran production and presence in Buffalo’s
offense backfield.
At the time, Allen was still establishing himself as the Bills’ young quarterback. Gore had joined Buffalo that offseason and most thought he was brought in pair with LeSean McCoy--but the Bills eventually moved on from McCoy and just kept Gore in what was Allen's first season as the starter from Day 1.
Seven years later, Allen is once again paired with a member of the Gore family. The younger Gore is situated in Bills’ offensive backfield as he works to develop his own place in the league.
The overlap creates an unusual generational link for Allen, whose career in Buffalo has extended from 2018 to present day. The elder Gore brought a Hall-of-Fame-worthy resume to Buffalo in 2019, while the younger Gore represents a new generation seeking to build on a recognizable name that his father established in the league.
For Allen, the connection illustrates the longevity of his tenure with the Bills and the changing faces around him. For Gore Jr., sharing a locker room with Allen offers a direct connection to the season in which his father also wore the Bills uniform.
