The first week of NFL training camp in 2026 is in the history books for the Buffalo Bills.
The starting steps have been taken toward the start of the regular season and there are plenty more to go. What did these first few days of the upcoming season show us? Thankfully, plenty of good.
Following the first week of Bills training camp, here are Bills Wire's three key things we learned about the team:
Josh Allen-DJ Moore connection
The Bills saw about 30 minutes of bad play between quarterback Josh Allen and new wide receiver DJ Moore on Day 1 of training camp. From there, Allen admitted during that first practice he told himself to lock in and the connection has flourished every day since.

Kaleb Elarms-Orr heavily involved
Fourth-round rookie Kaleb Elarms-Orr has impressed and has been involved. The linebacker has an active and physical play style which even led to a fight breaking out when pads came on.
But that has been loved by teammates and he is standing out. The Round 4 pick could be a Day 1 starter for the Bills if he keeps it up.
The curious case of CJ Gardner-Johnson
What can you say about safety CJ Gardner-Johnson that hasn't been said?
From live streaming before training camp started... to Gardner-Johnson impressing on the field as the Bills search for a starting safety next to Cole Bishop... to finally tons of concern because of hiscalf injury. That issue has seen good injury new follow, but the point stands: Gardner-Johnson will be focal point, in some fashion, throughout the 2026 season.
