Tyler Bass gave the Bills a big win on Monday Night Football.
With Buffalo needing a field goal to finish off the Los Angeles Rams, Bass delivered a 45-yard winner in a 37-34 overtime victory at SoFi Stadium.

“That’s who T-Bass is,” Josh Allen said. “We trust him implicitly.”
For a kicker returning from a lost season, the moment meant more than another successful attempt, though he is now nine-for-nine field-goal attempts on the season.
"I was just super present," Bass said about stepping into the sizable moment. "Whenever coach says, '"Hey, it's time"', It's time."
His comeback has offered Buffalo consistency in an area that had questions surrounding it this offseason, when he had the
vote of confidence from the team to return as it's starter.
And he now finds himself back in big game deciding moments.
"There was no panic. It was just conversations of how do we want to handle this. 45-yard kick, I felt like T. Bass was going to boot that and be good with it," Bills head coach Joe Brady shared with the media.
"We had some conversation on the sideline about, hey, what should we do? Do we take two knees right there and go back and at least they don't have a chance at a rebuttal? … Do you run two kind of QB sneaks and just know you're not losing yards, but there's a lot of risk - bangs on the head or punching at the ball?"
The HC passed on continuing to gain ground and get closer, and instead thought best to send Bass out to go for a 45-yard field goal on second down right after the two-minute warning in overtime. And it worked.
"Felt very confident about the left hash, and T. Bass wanted it there. Felt like it was within his range, within his safety range. Joe made the decision to put the ball down and kick it, and T. Bass drilled one," added Allen.Their confidence that Brady and Allen have in Bass is the kind the kicker has in himself as well to be ready for when he's called upon to do his part.
"Doesn't matter first down, fourth down," Bass said about Brady's decision. "Just go out there and do my process and go from there.
It did not come without a setback. Bass missed an extra point earlier in the game, and had to put that behind him to be ready for a bigger kick that would determine the outcome of the contest.
"I'm human, man. I make mistakes. I think I just toed it a little bit, so after a miss, I just make one correction, keep it simple, push forward, and go from there," he shared.
Buffalo nearly lost the chance to at the win. James Cook's fumble gave Los Angeles an opportunity to end the game before Greg Rousseau blocked Harrison Mevis' field-goal attempt, giving Buffalo the ball back.
The offense moved back into kicking range, and it was good.
Bass spent last season sidelined by a sports hernia. Buffalo stuck with him during the offseason rather than adding more competition or bringing back Matt Prater, who played in Bass's absence.
"The season started for me the second I got out of my surgery," Bass said postgame about working his way back from injury and back to the field. "That's when I kind of just put my focus forward and that's when it all started.
Long snapper Reid Ferguson, for one, saw the work that led up to that moment.
“He has worked relentlessly to get back and recover and find himself again. He’s been dying for an opportunity,” Ferguson told The Athletic.
That approach matters. Buffalo still has offensive mistakes and defensive concerns to address, and a blocked kick to escape a turnover is not a reliable path they can count on to lead to and through the postseason.
A dependable kicker can help keep them from deciding a game on a final kick, but also can secure a win when needed that way as well.
Bass did just that, making the most of Monday's bright lights and big final game moment, rewarding the confidence Buffalo showed during his recovery.
"Just going out there and just seeing your routine and trusting your process and seeing things, executed, it's pretty cool," he added about being back in a big game moment. "You appreciate it. You appreciate the opportunity and you just kind of try to make the most of it."
He has seen his ups and downs in the past. From the highs of game winners like his legendary red-uniform snow W against the Miami Dolphins to clinch a 2022 season playoff spot, to the lows in his missed 44-yard field goal against the Kansas City Chiefs in their January 2024 AFC divisional playoff game matchup.
He's come back and shown he can still be counted on, now in his college number 16 after giving No. 2 to D.J. Moore, he's contributing again and making a difference on the scoreboard.
"This has been a long time coming and just happy to to go out there and do my job and enjoy it."
