The New York Giants escaped an injury scare during Saturday's practice at training camp in West Virginia. Cornerback Greg Newsome II went down with a leg injury, but appears to have avoided a serious injury.
Greg Newsome went down during team. Slightly behind the play as Darnell Mooney ran past.

Non-contact, so tense moments with Newsome’s left leg being checked out before he popped up and went to other sideline with rest of defense. Apparently dodged bullet.
Giants exhale.
CB Greg Newsome took a bad step and went down. Looked bad but eventually checked out. John Harbaugh thinks he avoided anything serious. CB position is interesting. There is serious competition for starting jobs with Newsome, Deonte Banks, Paulson Adebo and even Colton Hood

Newsome, a former first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns who signed a one-year free agent deal with Big Blue this offseason, is in a tight competition for a starting role on the Giants' defense this year.
