ESPN’s Matt Bowen named Fields an under-the-radar rookie to watch in 2026 thanks in part to his physical gifts.
Fields has the physical profile at 6-foot-4, 218 pounds to win one-on-one targets as the boundary X receiver. Plus, the third-rounder can get the ball on deep in-breakers and underneath throws. Fields is pushing for the No. 2 role in New York, and his skill set should complement that of WR1 Malik Nabers.
Fields may benefit from the opportunities Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sends his way as a deep-ball threat. His size gives him a natural advantage near the sideline and in contested-catch situations, while his physical
playing style makes him a useful target in the red zone.
The rookie faces the challenge of producing against the defenses on the Giants’ 2026 schedule. Nonetheless, Fields could translate his size and playmaking ability into consistent production during his first season and help the Giants win games throughout the year.
