Both teams won their season openers for the first time in 17 years. The Giants opened with a 28-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, while the Jets earned a 23-10 win over the Tennessee Titans.

For the Giants, quarterback Jaxson Dart threw three touchdown passes. Isaiah Likely had an eventful debut, leading all Giants receivers with 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Francis Mauigoa did not allow a sack or pressure, and Deonte Banks made a statement with commendable coverage against Cowboys star CeeDee

The Jets received a strong performance from quarterback Geno Smith in his return to New York.
The last time both teams won their openers was in 2009, when the Giants defeated Washington 23-17, and the Jets beat Houston 24-7.
The rare start gives both teams early momentum, and New York fans renewed optimism heading into Week 2.
