The New York Giants signed offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark to the practice squad Wednesday and released defensive back J.T. Woods to open the spot, reports Art Stapleton.
VanDeMark is a Lodi, N.J., product who starred at St. Joseph Regional in Montvale, the same high school that produced Devin and Jason McCourty. After starting his college career at Michigan State, he transferred to Alabama and became a versatile interior lineman who can play guard or center.
The 24-year-old went undrafted in April and signed with the Indianapolis Colts, who guaranteed him $240,000. Indianapolis waived him on August 30 during final cuts.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 314 pounds, VanDeMark played 27 games over two seasons at Alabama and started nine times in 2025 — six
at right guard, two at left guard and one at center. He appeared in 18 games with eight starts at Michigan State.
Woods, a 2022 third-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers out of Baylor, had been signed to New York’s practice squad August 31 after a training-camp stint.
The move adds interior line depth as the Giants finish assembling their practice squad.
