Veteran running back Najee Harris is expected to make his New York Giants debut Friday night against the New York Jets in the preseason finale at MetLife Stadium.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Harris is slated to see his first game action with the Giants. It would also mark his first snaps since tearing his Achilles tendon in Week 3 of the 2025 season with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 28-year-old signed a one-year deal with New York on Aug. 18 after a workout at the team facility. Harris spent his first four NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, rushing for more than 1,000 yards in each
campaign and earning Pro Bowl honors as a 2021 rookie. He signed with the Chargers last year but played only three games before the injury ended his season.
Harris has practiced since joining the Giants and recently took first-team snaps. On the unofficial depth chart heading into Friday, he is listed as a co-No. 2 running back behind Cam Skattebo, grouped with Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary. He did not dress for last Saturday's preseason game against the Miami Dolphins.
Head coach John Harbaugh has called Harris an experienced, physical downhill runner. The Giants brought him in with the expectation that he can become a significant contributor once fully up to speed. Friday's game allows Harris to show his recovery progress and compete for a role in a crowded backfield before the regular season.
