New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart may have the breakout season fantasy football managers are hoping for in 2026.
Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano identified Dart as a second-year quarterback with a strong chance to become a fantasy star in 2026, citing a trend in which at least one quarterback has posted a breakout season in each of the last 11 years.
Based on this sticky trend, fantasy fans should be targeting Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough and Cam Ward in their upcoming drafts. My favorite potential breakout of the trio is Dart, who was good as a rookie starter and now has Malik Nabers back from a knee injury. I also like Shough, who showed signs of busting out in the second half of his rookie campaign. Ward is more of a sleeper than a breakout candidate,
but he too could exceed ADP expectations.
Dart showed considerable promise in 2025. He established himself as a dual-threat quarterback capable of picking up significant yardage on the ground and launching the ball downfield with his strong arm. In 2026, Dart is likely to rank among the league’s top rushing producers at the quarterback position while flirting with 4,000 passing yards.
That combination should make Dart a valuable fantasy asset who can help teams win leagues, whether or not he finishes as an overall QB1, provided he stays healthy.
