New York Giants linebacker Trace Ford was a standout performer in the team’s 23-6 win over the New York Jets in the final preseason game of the year.
Pro Football Focus named Ford to its NFL Preseason Team of the Week for Week 3 after he stuffed the stat sheet.
Ford recorded five total tackles, a sack and three tackles for loss in the Giants’ win. He added two passes defensed and two quarterback hits in the game. Aside from total tackles, Ford either led the team or tied for the team lead in each of those categories and helped New York secure a victory and build momentum for the start of the 2026 NFL season.
Though Ford’s performance was noteworthy, it was not enough to help him crack the Giants’ initial 53-man roster. New York has retained him on
its practice squad, which gives him a chance to work his way onto the active roster at some point this season.
