The New York Giants have plenty of work to do before the 2027 NFL draft, but one recent mock draft has them addressing a major need on the offensive side of the ball.
In his latest 2027 NFL mock draft for USA TODAY, Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz has the Giants selecting Texas wide receiver Cam Coleman with the No. 7 overall pick.
Coleman would give New York another talented pass catcher to pair with quarterback Jaxson Dart, providing the Giants with a potential long-term answer at wide receiver.
7. New York Giants – Cam Coleman, WR, Texas
When Jaxson Dart returns from his season-ending knee injury, it sure would be nice to have another weapon waiting for him. Coleman would surely boost Big Blue's playmaking quotient while helping Dart feel more at
ease when hanging in the pocket and getting deeper in his progressions. Able to be a threat at every level, the 6-3, 204-pound target is at his best when unleashing his considerable catch radius downfield.
Coleman spent his first two collegiate seasons at Auburn before transferring to Texas, where he'll have the opportunity to continue developing in a high-profile offense.
During his two seasons with the Tigers, Coleman recorded 93 receptions for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns across 23 games. Through five games with the Longhorns in 2026, Coleman has 17 receptions for 318 yards and five touchdowns.
His production, combined with his physical tools, has helped establish him as one of the more intriguing wide receiver prospects in the 2027 draft class.
At 6-foot-3 and 204 pounds, Coleman offers an impressive catch radius and the ability to win contested catches downfield.
Coleman would be a natural fit alongside Malik Nabers, giving New York two young receivers capable of stretching defenses and creating opportunities in the passing game. The Giants have invested significant resources in their offense, but adding another receiver would help provide Dart with more reliable options moving forward.
Nabers remains the centerpiece of the passing attack, while Isaiah Likely gives the Giants another weapon at tight end. Adding Coleman would provide another potential difference-maker on the outside, particularly in the vertical passing game.
Of course, the Giants still have several needs to address before the 2027 draft, and their final position will depend on how the remainder of the season unfolds.
But if Coleman continues to develop at Texas, he could emerge as an appealing option for a team looking to add more explosive playmaking talent.
If New York wants to give Dart the best possible chance to succeed, adding another talented receiver could be a step in the right direction.
