The New York Giants are releasing wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday.
The move ends a brief second chapter for one of the franchise's most popular players. Beckham signed a one-year, $1.3 million deal in June after a workout in East Rutherford, returning eight years after New York traded him to the Cleveland Browns.
The reunion also paired him again with head coach John Harbaugh, who coached him in Baltimore in 2023.
Beckham made the 53-man roster after catching seven passes for 76 yards in the preseason. The regular season never opened up. Through three games, he played 20 offensive snaps and finished with zero catches on one target, which came Sunday in a 12-7 win over the Tennessee
Titans.
Harbaugh had suggested Week 3 would be a good time to increase his role. It did not happen. The Giants, now 2-1, have leaned on Malik Nabers, rookie Malachi Fields and Darnell Mooney. Beckham, 33, does not play special teams.
He sat out all of 2025 after a six-game PED suspension and last caught an NFL pass in 2024 with the Miami Dolphins (nine receptions, 55 yards). Drafted 12th overall in 2014, he posted 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in five seasons with New York and won Offensive Rookie of the Year.
