New York Giants defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson has high praise for edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux as the team prepares for training camp.
Wilson described Thibodeaux as one of the hardest-working individuals he has ever met.
"He’s probably one of the hardest-working individuals that I’ve ever met. He is a 'glue guy' from a team standpoint, from a unit standpoint," Wilson told the New York Post. "He’s well-respected. He’ll speak his mind.
"He’s a guy that his teammates love being around him, and he wants somebody that’s always around that’s just true and honest with him … because he’s going to have some crazy questions. I think he’s comfortable being around this coaching staff. We accept him for who he is and what he represents."
Thibodeaux
enters the final year of his rookie contract after the Giants exercised his fifth-year option. He is projected as a rotational player behind Brian Burns and Abdul Carter. The team listened to trade offers this offseason but kept him when the packages fell short of expectations.
Teammates have also spoken highly of him. Burns called Thibodeaux’s handling of external noise and consistent work ethic inspirational. Position coach Charlie Bullen has similarly highlighted Thibodeaux’s effort and intentional approach this offseason.
Wilson’s comments signal that the coaching staff values Thibodeaux’s presence and leadership within the defensive unit heading into 2026.
