Jaxson Dart delivered a historic performance on Sunday night as the New York Giants opened the season with a 28-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.
The second-year quarterback completed 23 of 29 passing attempts for 230 yards and three touchdowns, posting a career-high 79.3 completion percentage and a career-best passer rating of 134.2. On the ground, Dart rushed 11 times for 54 yards.
Dart became the second player in NFL history to record three or more passing touchdowns, zero interceptions, 50-plus rushing yards and a completion percentage above 75 percent in a Week 1 game. The only other quarterback to achieve that combination was Jalen Hurts in 2021.
His 54 rushing yards also ranked as the most by a Giants quarterback in a Week
1 game since 1950.
The balanced, turnover-free effort helped New York control the tempo throughout John Harbaugh's first game as head coach.
