The New York Giants are fresh off a thrilling home win over the Dallas Cowboys and have immediately gotten to work tweaking the roster.
For the first time since MetLife Stadium opened in 2010, the Giants walked away with a Week 1 victory. It was an encouraging showing on both sides of the ball in the 28-20 win, and it was an especially impressing outing for quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Even so, the work continues for general manager Joe Schoen and head coach John Harbaugh. On Monday, they held a workout for 10 free agents.
Included in the workout were the following players:
- RB Blake Watson
- RB Ulysses Bentley
- RB D'Ernest Johnson
- RB Phil Mafah
- DT Jay Toia
- DT Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi
- DT Jalen Hunt
- LB Jack Dingle
- LB T.J. Quinn
It was announced Monday that the Giants signed Mafah to the practice squad, but there was a clear emphasis on adding depth to the backfield and the interior defensive line.
After
their big Week 1 win, the Giants are now preparing for a West Coast visit against the Los Angeles Rams (0-1).
