The New York Giants (1-1) and Tennessee Titans (0-2) are preparing for a Week 3 matchup at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
Both teams are coming off devastating losses from Week 2 in different ways. For fantasy football purposes, there are a number of players that will have an impact on lineups this week.
Given the injury to Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, there are no must-start players on the Giants side. Likewise, the Titans offense has given little reason to trust for fantasy matters.
Here's a look at five players to start or sit for fantasy football in this matchup.
Start: Giants WR Malik Nabers
Nabers will be without Dart for the remainder of the season, and he's dealing with a shoulder injury of his own. With that said, the fact that Jameis Winston is under center should help
give Nabers an enticing ceiling even if the floor is much lower than it would be with Dart. Nabers may not be a WR1 option, but he should still be in lineups until further notice.
Sit: Giants QB Jameis Winston
Winston has had a career filled with relevance for fantasy football purposes, but it's difficult to trust him after what he showed in relief of Dart during the Week 2 loss against the Los Angeles Rams. He was 11-of-27 passing (40.7%) for 111 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. Maybe he was just rusty, and the Rams defense regained its form. But Winston is a break-glass type of option for fantasy this week.
Start: Giants RB Cam Skattebo
Skattebo's stat line for the Week 2 loss was less than encouraging. But if we look beyond a simple box score, there were some encouraging notes to be found. The second-year back held a 63% running back rush share while seeing a 13% target share in the loss. Those are very encouraging numbers. The Giants could lean on Skattebo more with Dart out, and the Titans have allowed the 13th-most fantasy points per game to the position this season.
Start: Giants TE Isaiah Likely
The breakout candidate tight end only gathered 33 yards in the loss against the Rams, but like Skattebo, his peripheral numbers suggest another big game could be on the way. Likely led the way with 10 targets and a 31% target share. That type of volume is nearly impossible to find at the tight end position.
Sit: Giants WR Darnell Mooney
Acting as the No. 2 wide receiver behind Nabers, Mooney led the way with 48 receiving yards in Week 2. Even with his explosive abilities downfield, Mooney isn't an option for fantasy football managers this week. He led the wide receiver room in routes run, but he hasn't seen above a 9% target share in any game this season.
