Earlier in the offseason, the Giants brought Berrios in for a workout alongside Odell Beckham Jr. and JuJu Smith-Schuster. With wideout and return specialist Gunner Olszewski already on IR with a torn ACL, Berrios earned a roster spot and impressed enough to keep it.
He handled the team’s return duties over the first four games of the season. After suffering a foot injury in the Week
4 win against the Arizona Cardinals, he was placed on season-ending IR.
Berrios had limited involvement in the offense, recording just one target through the first four weeks. At 31 years old and recovering from a Lisfranc injury, his availability for a 10th NFL season remains uncertain.
Both he and Olszewski are set to become unrestricted free agents, and with both return specialists coming off season-ending injuries, the Giants will need to evaluate their options this offseason for the kick and punt return roles in 2027 and beyond.
