The New York Giants’ first-year players will join the rest of the NFL’s rookies in wearing a Topps Debut Patch on their jerseys in their first games this season, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The change celebrates the famed brand’s return as the league’s official trading card licensee.

Fanatics, Topps’ parent company, partnered with the NFL and NFLPA in April to become the league’s exclusive trading card licensee. With Topps back in the NFL, the brand
intends to remove the Debut Patch after each player’s first game and place it on an autographed one-of-one trading card.
The league’s decision will put Giants rookies, including Arvell Reese and Francis Mauigoa, in the spotlight with the patch on their jerseys. Those rookies will have the chance to make strong debuts in the team’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on September 13.
