New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo knows the best way to start the season is by gaining leverage in the NFC East.
With the Giants scheduled to face the Dallas Cowboys on September 13 in their 2026 regular-season debut, Skattebo was not shy about saying he plans to dominate his division rival in a recent interview on Up & Adams.

"It's going to feel awesome. It's going to be punishment to the defense," Skattebo told Kay Adams of his first carry. "I've been hitting my own teammates for about three months now, so I am tired of it. I'm ready to play football against someone else."
Skattebo's speedy recovery
from his season-ending right-ankle injury in 2025 is nothing short of divine, and his full participation in training camp this summer should give fans optimism. Additionally, Skatt will greatly benefit from a plethora of new teammates who are ready to hone in on establishing the team's rushing attack.
The 21 personnel design of offensive coordinator Matt Nagy will afford Skattebo an opportunity to thrive inside a power attack and not solely on the basis of his finesse. Nagy wants to ensure that Skattebo fulfills his punishment prophecy on their divisional foe.
Many analysts feel the Cowboys have strengthened their personnel on defense, but time will have to prove it. Certainly, Skattebo is ready for battle against Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker, who was hired as the youngest ever in the franchise's history.
