It didn't take New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malachi Fields very long to make an impression on the fans at MetLife Stadium.
The Giants' third-round pick out of Notre Dame had three receptions in the team's 13-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last Saturday. Two went for first downs, and the third was a leaping touchdown grab in the end zone.

Pro Football Focus listed Fields among their NFL Rookie Team of the Week.
The 74th overall pick, Malachi Fields, ran only 11 routes but moved the chains three times. That included an impressive contested touchdown
catch on a scramble drill, a play he executed with the awareness of an established veteran.
"The value of a contested catch, big contested-catch receiver in the red zone, right? And that's really what that is," head coach John Harbaugh said after the game. "I mean, that's one of the reasons we drafted him."
"That was a big thing that I love about Malachi’s tape coming out (of college) -- was his ability to go make contested catches," quarterback Jaxson Dart said. "I feel like he’s a player that regardless of what route that he’s on, just from his range and stature and his ability to have really good hands, he’s never really out of a play. And he loves the game; he competes through the whistle. You see that in the way that not only he runs his routes but also the way that he blocks, so I think he’s just been doing what he’s been doing, and I have a ton of faith in him."
