The New York Giants signed cornerback Greg Newsome to a modest one-year, $8 million deal in free agency back in March, fortifying Big Blue's secondary. His contract isn't even a half-season old, but the Giants are ensuring Newsome doesn't become a free agent in 2027.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Tuesday that the Giants and Newsome have agreed to a three-year, $46 million extension, including $32 million guaranteed.
In six games this season, Newsome has one interception, six passes defensed and 25 tackles. According to Pro Football Focus, he's allowed just 15 receptions on 27 targets for 174 yards. He has yet to allow a touchdown pass in coverage.

Newsome, 26, was a first-round pick by the Browns in 2021. Last October, Cleveland traded him to the Jaguars before the trade deadline. He became a free agent in March, which is when the Giants inked him to a one-year deal worth $8 million.
