Going to NFL games will be a more expensive proposition this season. Inflation, rising travel and ticket costs, and stagnant paychecks are all factoring more than ever into the fan experience these days.
For fans of the New York Giants, ticket prices have risen 12 percent over last season to an average "get-in" price of $265 per ticket, per TickPick. That's far from the highest in the NFL. In fact, it's right in the middle at No. 17.
This Sunday night, the Giants open the John Harbaugh era by hosting the Dallas Cowboys. Naturally, with all the newfound optimism surrounding the Giants and the addition of a rival opponent has made this a very attractive game.
TickPick reports the average purchase price of a ticket for this game is $369, with the “get-in”
price currently sitting at $246. It is the third most expensive Week 1 matchup in the NFL and the most expensive in the 102-year history of the Giants.

What's driving up the price? Well, we opened by telling you that the fans are excited about the team's prospects this season after losing ten or more games in ten of the last 12 seasons. They believe Harbaugh is going to turn the Giants back into winners.
The fact that the Cowboys are the opponent has also spiked the interest -- and the prices. Cowboy fans travel well and have been well-represented at MetLife Stadium since it opened back in 2010.
But stats are showing that actual ticket buyers are from the New York Metropolitan Area and not from out of town.
