The New York Giants defeated the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, 28-20, to open the John Harbaugh era.
It was the Giants' first Week 1 home win since 2010 and only their third win over the Cowboys in the last 19 meetings.
The Giants looked like a contending team in front of the national television audience, looking sharp from the coaching staff to the medical team.
Speaking of the medical team, they weren't seen that often on Sunday night. The reason? The Giants had no major injuries in the game. Cornerback Deonte Banks suffered some cramps, and fellow cornerback Greg Newsome II cleared a concussion check.
On Monday, head coach John Harbaugh was asked how his team came out of the game health-wise.
"Fine," he said.
That was it. No further
discussion.
The Giants played a physical game in Week 1, something they haven't done in years, and you can point to Harbaugh's rigorous training camp and offseason program as the reason.
The Giants have been besieged by injuries over the past decade, and their poor finishes can be attributed to the injuries they've sustained.
