New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh offered limited clarity Monday on whether running back Cam Skattebo and linebacker Abdul Carter will be available as the team begins preparing for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Both players drew attention after missing or sitting out portions of the session open to the media. Harbaugh described their situations as fluid heading into the divisional matchup.
"My concern level. What's the scale? Like how does it work? Is it like color coded? Or is it number coded?" Harbaugh said. "Well, I don't have a scale. See, that's the deal. But yeah, it's going to be probably day-to-day up to the game for those guys. We're going to just have to see where we're at. I'll probably have more information
toward the end of the week. We'll see on both those guys where we're at."
Carter’s absence was tied to illness rather than the calf issue that has limited him at times this season. Skattebo was also held out of the main practice work.
"No, [Carter] was sick today. Who was the other guy you're talking about then? I thought you were talking about the running back. Did you say Skat?" Harbaugh said. "Oh, I was thinking about Tracy. Yeah, Tracy's a little tougher one than Skatt, just for the record."
The Giants will continue evaluating both players over the next several days. Harbaugh indicated more definitive updates are expected later in the week as the team works through its schedule for the Eagles.
