New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen told reporters on Wednesday that the team would likely add another defensive tackle before the team's first regular season game against Dallas a week from this Sunday.

The Giants have loads of questions at the moment on the interior of the defensive line after dealing All-Pro Dexter Lawrence away this spring. They have just one player returning from last year's roster, second-year player Darius Alexander, and he has reportedly taken a step back this summer.
They signed 35-year-old Shelby Harris to a one-year deal and 32-year-old D.J. Reader for two years. Neither played in the preseason. The Giants added Auburn's
Bobby Jamison-Travis in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL draft and, last week, they traded with Baltimore for C.J. Okoye.
The uncertainty is enough for Schoen to continue searching for upgrades and depth. Now, who that player will be and how they'll be obtained is unknown at this time, but teams could be ripe for a deal.
Schoen has become one of the more active GMs in the league over the past few years, so it wouldn't be surprising if he made a significant splash here.
