New York Giants tight end Isaiah Likely has a simple goal heading into his first season with the team in 2026: Make life easier for quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Speaking to the media after practice on Wednesday, Likely said his primary focus is to become a dependable option for Dart in the Giants’ offense.
“It's my first time with a younger quarterback, so it's really just seeing the game from his point of view, seeing the game from his eyes. And really just trying to make his life as easy as possible is my number one priority,” Likely said.
The Giants signed Likely in free agency last spring after he spent the first four seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens from 2022-2025. He appeared in 14 games in 2025 and recorded 307 receiving yards
and one receiving touchdown.
Likely caught passes from Lamar Jackson throughout his time in Baltimore, giving him experience with an MVP quarterback and an offense built around a dual-threat passer, much like Dart. He excelled at converting short and intermediate routes, a skill that should benefit Dart when the pocket collapses or when he is forced to scramble.
The 26-year-old now hopes to use that experience in New York to help Dart refine areas of his game that need improvement from last season.
