The New York Giants pulled off one of the biggest upsets of Week 7, defeating the Houston Texans, 27-21, in overtime on Sunday.
Cam Skattebo was instrumental in the victory, earning Giants Wire's Player of the Game honors after bouncing back from a difficult stretch.
New York entered Sunday's contest as 10.5-point underdogs, making the Giants the biggest underdogs in the NFL this week. Skattebo, in particular, had plenty to prove after being held without a single touch in last week's loss to the New Orleans Saints amid his fumbling struggles.
The second-year running back responded with one of his most important performances of the season.
Skattebo finished with 17 carries for 124 yards and a touchdown, averaging 7.3 yards per attempt. He also caught
one pass for -3 yards, delivering his biggest contribution on the ground.
His 16-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave New York a 21-14 lead, capping a lengthy drive and putting the Giants in position to secure the upset.
Houston ultimately forced overtime, but Skattebo wasn't finished.
The running back ripped off a 42-yard run on New York's opening possession of overtime, putting the Giants in scoring territory and setting up the eventual walk-off touchdown. Devin Singletary finished the job with a 30-yard touchdown run, securing the victory.

Skattebo appeared to show some discomfort following the explosive overtime run, although his injury status should be confirmed before attributing a hamstring injury to him.
After facing adversity and losing his role last week, Skattebo delivered when the Giants needed him most. His production, resilience, and pivotal overtime run made him a deserving Player of the Game in Houston.
