The New York Giants took the field on Thursday for their second of three practices ahead of a Week 5 game against the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
The team's three coordinators met with reporters ahead of practice and discussed how the ongoing wave of injuries will impact each unit this week and moving forward.
"Different skill sets," special teams coordinator Chris Horton said of going from Braxton Berrios to Charlie Jones. "Obviously, losing Berrios, it's huge. You talk about a guy that works so hard to get himself back to a position of playing just really good football, and he was doing that, so obviously he'll be missed. But with Charlie, another veteran guy, it's not like going from a vet to a rookie.
This is going back to another veteran guy. When you've got two guys like that, you feel pretty good about what you've got going back there. We've got all the confidence in Charlie, and he'll do well."
Meanwhile, wide receiver Malik Nabers and left tackle Andrew Thomas returned to practice on Thursday, giving them a solid chance to play on Sunday against Washington.
