The hits just keep on coming for the New York Giants.
After the decision was made for second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart to undergo surgery to repair the knee injury he suffered Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams, it appears the Giants will be without star Brian Burns with his own injury.
Burns was not spotted at practice Wednesday to begin the week as the Giants prepare for the Tennessee Titans, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the star edge rusher is expected to miss some time after sustaining a low-ankle sprain against the Rams.
Some silver lining in the news was that the injury is not expected to require surgery.

This is a massive deal for the Giants defense. Burns is the engine of the entire unit, and he's been an iron man throughout his time with the Giants despite dealing with some nicks from time to time.
Burns is coming off a career season in which he recorded 16.5 sacks, 31 quarterback hits and 22 tackles for loss in 2025. The Giants will now lean on second-year edge rusher Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux to lead the pass rush.
It remains to be seen whether Burns will hit the injured reserve list due to the injury, but things are not going well in East Rutherford for the Giants right now.
