Is there a player in the 2027 NFL draft class the New York Giants already need?
Next year’s draft is still a long way off. After Week 1, though, the Giants looked sharp in their win over the Dallas Cowboys, but depth is always welcome.
Unless a major trade or free-agent signing changes the picture this season, New York would benefit from landing a high-end prospect in the first round next spring as they try to keep climbing toward contention.

John Harbaugh wants to rebuild the Giants from the offensive line out, and Goosby fits the physical, heavy-personnel offense that Matt Nagy is installing. Goosby looks the part
of an NFL left tackle and could kick over to right tackle for the Giants.
His length, mass, and natural power make him difficult to get around or go through, and he can create movement in the running game. Quicker rushers can stress his footwork and change-of-direction ability, but the starting-tackle traits are obvious.
The Giants are already in good shape at the position. Former All-Pro Andrew Thomas is the starter at left tackle and is under contract through 2029. Jermaine Eluemunor is signed at right tackle through 2028. Both are in their primes. Another talented tackle would still give the roster valuable insurance and a longer-term option.
Goosby has not allowed a sack this season at Texas and has given up only one pressure through two games. He could be the kind of tackle New York needs down the road as it looks to take the next step.
