The New York Giants are signing defensive tackle Dean Lowry to the practice squad. Interior line depth has been a lingering need, and Lowry could help address it if he is eventually elevated to the active roster.

Lowry joins PJ Mustipher and Josh Tupou as the other defensive linemen on the practice squad.
The 32-year-old will bring a veteran presence after appearing in 132 NFL games across stints with three teams.
After trading Dexter Lawrence this offseason, free-agent additions Shelby Harris and D.J. Reader have fared well for the Giants. Depth remains a real issue along the interior defensive
line, however, particularly after Chauncey Golston’s injury less than a week ago. The Giants will continue to explore options to add depth.
Lowry last played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, appearing in 12 games and recording five tackles, one sack, and one blocked kick. He spent the first seven years of his career (2016-2022) with the Green Bay Packers before playing with the Minnesota Vikings in 2023.
He will look to compete for an elevation to the active roster and make an impact in his 10th NFL season. The veteran defensive lineman had planned to sign with the Giants earlier in September, but injuries delayed the process for both sides.
