The New York Giants signed linebacker Malik Harrison to their active roster on Tuesday, elevating the veteran after he exhausted his practice-squad elevations.
Harrison joined the Giants’ practice squad 10 days before the season opener and was elevated for each of the team’s first three games. In those appearances, he played 56 special-teams snaps, accounting for 84.8 percent of the unit’s total, while recording two tackles and a fumble recovery on the opening kickoff of the Week 3 victory over the Titans.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Harrison has appeared in 90 career games with 43 starts across stints with the Ravens from 2020 to 2024, the Steelers in 2025, and the Giants this season.
Selected by Baltimore in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft
out of Ohio State, Harrison has totaled 181 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, 2.0 sacks, one pass defensed, one fumble recovery, and 36 special-teams tackles.
The move adds depth to a defensive front seven that has dealt with injuries to Chauncey Golston and Brian Burns.
Under NFL rules, a practice-squad player may be elevated only three times in a season before the team must sign him to the 53-man roster to continue using him. Harrison’s promotion keeps a reliable special-teams contributor available as the Giants navigate the middle portion of the schedule.
