Derek Carr wasted little time dismissing speculation that he might come out of retirement to quarterback the New York Giants.
After a fan posted an edited image of Carr in a Giants jersey and asked whether New York should lure the former Raiders and Saints passer back, Carr answered Wednesday.

The line referred to NBA 2K27, where a Level 40 crew is the top multiplayer rank. Carr was making it clear he is occupied with video games, not an NFL return.
The chatter started after Jaxson Dart suffered season-ending damage to his left MCL, PCL, and meniscus in Monday night’s 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He will undergo surgery and miss the rest of the regular
season, though head coach John Harbaugh left open a possible playoff return if the Giants get that far.
Jameis Winston will start on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans after completing 11 of 27 passes for 111 yards and an interception in relief. Harbaugh said the team plans to add another quarterback and that all options are open.
Carr, 35, started 169 games over 11 NFL seasons before retiring in May 2025. He had left the door slightly ajar in July, saying a comeback would require a special situation. His response Wednesday made it obvious the Giants’ sudden opening is not that situation.
