New York Giants defensive tackle Shelby Harris is taking on a second job this season. The veteran interior lineman, signed to a one-year deal in April as New York rebuilt its defensive line after trading Dexter Lawrence, will join SiriusXM NFL Radio as a rotating host on “The Players’ Point.”
The weekly program, billed as the only radio show hosted entirely by active NFL players, airs Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. ET. Harris will co-host roughly once a month alongside Carolina Panthers long snapper J.J. Jansen. The rotating cast also features New York Jets linebacker Demario Davis, Los Angeles Chargers fullback Alec Ingold and free-agent wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
Harris, a 2014 seventh-round pick out of Illinois State, is entering his 12th NFL season.
The 35-year-old spent the past three years in Cleveland after earlier stops with the Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. He played all 17 games last season, recording 32 tackles and a sack, and is expected to supply veteran depth inside for John Harbaugh’s revamped front.
Harris will not be the only Giants presence on the channel. Longtime Giants radio voice Bob Papa remains a weekday fixture on SiriusXM NFL Radio and will host “Airing It Out” Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon ET with newly retired receiver Adam Thielen.
SiriusXM will carry every NFL game live this season, including home and visiting team broadcasts available in vehicles and on the app.
