The New York Giants (3-1) will hit the road this Sunday for a divisional matchup against the Washington Commanders (1-3) for a Week 5 matchup at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.
With that, it provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal some talent from the Commanders' roster in hopes of addressing some pressing needs for Big Blue.
It's been a wild season for the Giants thus far, and the roster looks extremely different than it did to begin the campaign. They're 3-1 despite the fact that quarterback Jaxson Dart and edge rusher Brian Burns suffered significant, season-ending knee injuries that required surgery.
Throughout this fun weekly exercise, sometimes it makes sense to take the best player. Other
times, we like to forgo a star to highlight an area of need the Giants must address soon or during the upcoming offseason. The Commanders don't offer much in the way of a crazy strong roster.
What they do have, though, is a stout option the Giants would love to have at guard in Sam Cosmi.
Though Cosmi is working through a concussion and he typically plays right guard, the former second-round pick would be a fantastic addition to the offensive line, replacing veteran Jon Runyan Jr. at left guard. Having Cosmi and rookie Sisi Mauigoa on the interior would be a dynamic duo both in the run and pass game.
According to Pro Football Focus, Cosmi has allowed just one total pressure on 87 pass-blocking snaps. That kind of efficiency is difficult to find along the interior offensive line, and he's young enough to give the Giants something to build around.
What say you, Giants fans? Would you steal Cosmi, or a different Commanders player entirely?
