The NFL suspended line judge Jeff Seeman for two games without pay after cameras caught him appearing to curse at Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride during Sunday's game at MetLife Stadium.
The exchange came late in the fourth quarter of the New York Giants' 36-24 win, with Arizona trailing 27-24 and under five minutes left. Officials did not flag Giants cornerback Dru Phillips for contact on a third-down throw from Jacoby Brissett that fell incomplete.
McBride argued for interference, and video showed Seeman, an official since 2002, appearing to shout a profanity. CBS reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala, standing nearby, said she never heard McBride curse.
I was standing right there. What’s wild is that it all started with Trey McBride saying “please”
when pleading his case for a PI flag. He was heated for sure, but I never heard a curse from him. The harshest he got was, “You’re ruining the game.” https://t.co/uvKzzxtq45

NFL vice president of officiating Ramon George issued the suspension Monday for unprofessional conduct toward a player. Seeman can return in Week 7.
NFLPA executive director JC Tretter called the behavior unacceptable and said players are held to the same standard when the roles are reversed. The league also suspended referee Adrian Hill one game after a separate incident with Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson.
The discipline follows a weekend in which John Harbaugh already took issue with the officials. With 22 seconds left, a pass interference flag on Deonte Banks gave Arizona first-and-goal at the 4. Harbaugh called the penalty crazy, saying he thought a defender had to touch the receiver, and described his reaction as a mix of crying and rage.
Banks answered on the next snap, intercepting Brissett and returning it 98 yards for the touchdown that sealed the victory.
