New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter has gotten off to a strong start in the 2026 NFL season.
Pro Football Focus ranked Carter No. 11 overall in its latest edge defender rankings following Week 2.
Carter has earned an 82.7 overall grade through a balanced two-game workload. His five pressures consist of one sack, one hit and three hurries, although his 7.8% pressure rate and 10.3% pass-rush win rate leave room for more production as a rusher. He has been steadier against the run, producing three stops over 42 run-defense snaps and avoiding a negatively graded play in that facet.
Carter has made an immediate impact for New York. Despite the Giants’ 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2, he was an effective contributor off the edge, recording
a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit.
After a strong rookie year in 2025, Carter has opened the 2026 season with greater consistency and the stats to back it up. His ability to affect games without relying solely on sacks has stood out through two weeks of play.
