New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malachi Fields is a player to keep in mind at the tail end of fantasy football drafts this year.
NFL.com’s Dan Parr named Fields as a rookie worth a late-round pick in fantasy football.
Fields’ lack of elite speed cost him in April’s draft, but he’s proving he can go up and get the football against NFL competition. He built on his strong training camp performance with a leaping touchdown grab in the Giants’ first preseason game and is firmly in the running to be the team’s WR2.
There’s a crowd of players looking to complement Malik Nabers -- including Darius Slayton, Calvin Austin III and Darnell Mooney -- but Fields could be a go-to guy for Jaxson Dart in the red zone. For a QB who likes to take his chances
down the field, the G-Men might have found themselves a perfect fit. Consider me intrigued.
Fields played well in the Giants’ 13-10 preseason loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Dart in the second quarter. The performance offered an early indicator of what Fields can provide New York in 2026 and will help determine how large a role he ultimately earns.
Behind Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton, Fields is likely to compete for consistent WR3 snaps this season. He could produce serviceable numbers for fantasy managers seeking a depth option who can support their teams when needed and deliver the occasional big performance against favorable matchups.
