The New York Giants have a revamped wide receiver room, with Malik Nabers set to return from injury alongside rookie Malachi Fields and Odell Beckham Jr. The edge rusher unit is led by Brian Burns and Abdul Carter.
Though the Giants have several strengths, their main area of potency may lie on the offensive side of the ball, away from the pass-catching unit.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan named the Giants’ running game as the team’s biggest strength for the new season.
The running game, which includes quarterback Jaxson Dart's ability to run. He had nine rushing touchdowns last season and the Giants now average 325 pounds on their offensive line. Throw in fullback Patrick Ricard at 300 pounds and this is the kind of big, physical running game that new coach
John Harbaugh wanted to build. They even have physical runners with Cam Skattebo and Najee Harris to fit the mold.
Skattebo could flirt with 1,000 yards rushing in 2026 and is an imposing power back. Tyrone Tracy Jr. has gone for more than 1,000 yards from scrimmage in each of his two seasons and has come close to 1,000 rushing yards in his own right. Devin Singletary also contributes meaningfully as a scoring threat.
Then there's the addition of bulldozing back Najee Harris, a three-time 1,000-yard rusher who could take on a substantial role of his own.
With Harris, Ricard and Dart — who could finish among the league’s top rushing quarterbacks in 2026 — the Giants’ running game may be the best part of their offense this season.
