Nevertheless, several top prospects already intrigue as players projected to go in the middle of the first round next year, a range New York may be in line to select if the Giants finish with 7-10 wins in 2026 as expected.
The Bleacher Report Scouting Department has Clemson cornerback Ashton Hampton going to the Giants with the No. 11 pick in its 2027 NFL mock draft, citing New York as the place for him to land based on what has been seen to date.
Team Fit: Change is likely coming to the New York Giants' cornerback room after
this season. Greg Newsome II and Deonte Banks are on the last years of their current deals. Paulson Adebo has one more year remaining, though his salary-cap charge remains over $20 million in 2027. A partial reset feels necessary, and Clemson's Ashton Hampton offers high-end talent and pedigree.
Scout's Take: Hampton has all of the requisite tools to be a No. 1 corner at the NFL level. Plus, he's an explosive downhill thumper in the run game. His length and ball-tracking show up at the catch-point, while his coverage versatility makes him tough to face on a down-by-down basis.

The Giants have talent at the cornerback position with Paulson Adebo, Greg Newsome, Deonte Banks, and rookie Colton Hood, but Hampton may give them a No. 1 corner for the future. He has the talent to do so and already has an interception this season at Clemson.
