New York Giants rookie linebacker Arvell Reese responded to a disappointing performance last week with a game-high 13 tackles on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
Following the Giants' 12-7 win, Reese told reporters after the game that he entered with extra motivation to play well.

“After a loss, you always want to self-reflect and see what you could be doing better,” Reese said. “So I just self-reflected on that and came out this weekend with a chip on my shoulder. And that’s really how I approach every game, but after a loss, you’re always chasing wins.”
Reese stayed around
the ball, finished plays, and set a defensive tone with an active performance. His 13 tackles marked a strong rebound for the young defender. The production reflected the urgency he played with as he worked to correct last week’s mistakes and make an impact throughout the contest.
The Ohio native was not at his best against the Rams in Week 2. He did not perform up to his instinctive standard and left some of his relentlessness unused. Reese corrected those errors with a better showing in the win over Tennessee.
Still finding his footing in the NFL, Reese’s response offered an encouraging sign for New York, which expects a high level of play from the star rookie. The performance gives him momentum as he seeks greater consistency and a larger role in the defensive rotation.
