New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh has formed a strong connection with the fanbase early in his tenure, praising their energy at MetLife Stadium.
Ahead of the Week 6 game against the New Orleans Saints, Harbaugh reflected on the growing familiarity as the team seeks a 4-0 home start, its best since 2008.
After a Week 5 tie with the Washington Commanders left the Giants at 3-1-1, Harbaugh highlighted the support in tense moments.
"It's been fun to see and feel the vibe in the stadium. And you do get to know them. You catch people's faces. You get a feel for the personality of the fanbase, and it's really cool. Or even like coming out, there's a tunnel with the fans there right around the bench area," Harbaugh told Giants.com.
"It's been really
fun, and there have been some tense moments, and they've been right there with us. They really have. And they get pissed off too, they do, and they should, like we all do. It's a great fanbase."
The remarks build on comments after the season-opening win over Dallas, when Harbaugh described an "unbelievable" environment with a packed parking lot hours before kickoff and an electric stadium. He has also praised road fans who filled half of the stadium in Washington last week.
With the Saints visiting MetLife, the fanbase's passion continues to support the home advantage.
