The New York Giants are set to begin the regular season with a home matchup against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Sunday Night Football.
With that, it provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal some talent from the Cowboys' roster in hopes of addressing some pressing needs for Big Blue.
The Giants roster has its share of strengths and weaknesses, but one area that likely may need to be addressed at some point in the near future is the center position. That's why we've chosen Cowboys center Cooper Beebe as the hypothetical steal ahead of this matchup.
As John Michael Schmitz Jr. enters his fourth campaign in the NFL, his career hasn't quite gone as planned when the Giants used the No. 58 overall pick
on him in the 2023 NFL draft. Though his 14 pressures allowed and 60.9 pass-blocking grade are the best he's posted in his career, per Pro Football Focus, there's a chance the Giants look to move on this offseason.
Adding Beebe to the roster could help the Giants solidify the offensive line as they previously hoped when they selected Schmitz Jr. in 2023. Beebe allowed 16 pressures, including one sack, on 484 pass-blocking snaps during the 2025 season, per PFF.
Schmitz has yet to prove why he deserves a second contract with Big Blue, so this is certainly a position that could be addressed sooner rather than later.
